Freezer Addition: Compaction Grouting

Seabrook, NJ – The purpose of this grouting program was to improve soft soils pre-construction to minimize settlement of the foundations for a new freezer addition. As per usual, we had to ensure grouting locations were placed considering sand density and suitable soil.  Density can vary within the soil on a project site. Test borings revealed the locations where soil was more dense than others. In addition to the ground density, we also had to take into account an old stack foundation that remained on site.  We grouted around this foundation and planned the injection points as needed.

Upon project completion we drilled 2863 linear  and injected 105 cubic yards of grout in 101 hole locations.
